A sketch of a classical column capital, most likely Ionic in style, is presented with meticulous details and shading. The volutes, or spiral scroll-like ornaments, are prominently featured, and the capital is adorned with ornate patterns just beneath the echinus. The fine lines and cross-hatching illustrate the texture and three-dimensional qualities of the column.
